The Problem with Traditional IoT Connectivity
- Single points of failure. Hub-and-spoke architectures collapse when one access point goes down.
- Infrastructure dependency. WiFi and cellular require expensive, fixed infrastructure that doesn't work in remote, temporary, or rugged environments.
- Cloud-or-nothing. When connectivity drops, most platforms go dark. No alerts, no monitoring, no decisions.
- Scaling pain. Adding devices to traditional networks creates congestion. Every new node competes for bandwidth.
